Rakugo Museum
Ikeda is the first city in Japan to be known as "The City Of Rakugo," and its "Rakugo Museum" which opened in April, 2007 houses a permanent Kamigata Rakugo exhibition.
Inside the museum is a visual introduction to rakugo and an area to watch and listen to your favorite rakugo performers on DVD and CD. There is also an area displaying "Ikeda Boar Buying" and "Ikeda Cattle Praising."
Each month on the second Saturday from 2 p.m. a rakugo session is held (admission fee charged). The museum also holds paid-admission introductory rakugo classes for amateurs.
