Itsuo Art Museum
The art collections exhibited in the old museum, a former residence of Ichizo Kobayashi (the founder of Hankyu Corporation), were moved to this new art museum on the 50th year anniversary of the museum in autumn 2009. Itsuo (Ichizo Kobayashi’s pen name) as a tea ceremony master collected porcelains and calligraphic works used for tea ceremony. His collections of Buson and Goshun are the most famous. The museum holds art exhibitions four times a year, featuring Itsuo’s collections, many of which are designated Important Cultural Properties. Also enjoy lectures and music in the Magnolia Hall attached to the museum.
